Tony Kanaan Fails to Secure De Ferran Drive

Tony Kanaan will not be driving for De Ferran Dragon Racing in the 2011 IndyCar serise.

The news comes of the back of Kanaan's failure to secure the required level of backing from his sponsors.

Gil de Ferran's squad had previously annouced Kanaan as a driver in December last year.

The 2004 IndyCar champion will be looking at his options for the up and coming season, having left Andretti Autosport after 8 seasons with the outfits.

Potentially strong teams including Newman/Haas, Conquest, KV, Dreyer & Reinbold and Dale Coyne are yet to announce their full line-ups, although all are likely to have financial considerations.

With the IndyCar season due to start in St Petersburg on 27th March, time is running out.
