Snegirev makes F2 move

Mark Snegirev will make the move from British F3 to F2 for the 2011 Season.

The 23 year-old Russian struggled to break into the top 10 in F3 last year, but ended the season on a stronger note when he returned to Formula Palmer Audi - the series where he had made his racing debut in 2007 - and won a race.

From here he took part in all four days of winter F2 testing at Portimao and Barcelona, setting the sixth quickest around the Portuguese Algarve circuit.

Snegirev will be the fourth Russian to take part in the FIA Formula Two Championship, following in the footsteps of Mikhail Aleshin, Sergey Afanasiev and Ivan Samarin.
