RACER of the Year:

There aren't too many accolades NHRA Funny Car legend John Force hasn't picked up in his storied career, but here's a first: RACER of the Year 2010 presented by Mobil 1 and voted for by readers of RACER magazine and RACER.com.

Force took the overal win, fending off the best from road, oval and drag racing, but it's also the first time any drag racer has taken the top honor in the 16-year history of the award.

The motor-mouthed crowd-pleaser polled 37 percent of your votes, with F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup title-winner Jimmie Johnson, running him closest with 15 and 14 percent, respectively.

Force also took the Drag Racer of the Year for a record ninth time.

(For those of you not aware of Force's achievements, expect to see a feature soon)
